Halo 1: No Text Fix

So a lot of people including I have problems with displaying text such as who killed who or who joined the game in Halo CE; apparently the problem is that the windows installer package which enables the viewing of the text is not included in the Halo CE Upload.

 

Here's how to fix it;

 

1. Close Halo CE and related programs. When you install this, it needs to be closed to take effect (will still install correctly, just wont automatically show).

 

2. Download msxmlenu.msi; this was originally included on the original Halo CE installation CD.

3. Run it by clicking or right clicking 'install' in the context menu. Install it in the default installation folder. If running on a x64 system, keep it on the default x86 destination and don't change it.

 

4. Play the game; installation package (the .msi) can be deleted after.

 

5. Enjoy seeing me get everyone's kill!
