Our team usually practices on astroturf, but we couldn't get the field for the past week, so we had to practice at some crummy park nearby which is basically just hard dirt. Started feeling the pain yesterday and it's just getting worse. I've gotten shin splints before when I ran track and the worst part is that it takes forever to heal (took like 3 weeks last time), and you really can't do much to help it along, besides icing (little good that does).
