Ever had the need to sync files quickly between 2 or more computers, or between your main pc, laptop and smartphone? Or would you have wanted to get a decent backup without going through too much hassle of setting it up? Well, dropbox is a lightweight application that lets you do exactly that. The way it works is it stores everything you place in your dropbox folder to 'the cloud', and syncronizes it in real-time with your dropbox web page account, and all your other devices on which you have it installed. Once you have it installed all there's left to do is to drag and drop to your dropbox folder (free version allows up to 2gb) and the rest is done automatically from there.

The free version like I said allows upto 2gb of storage, which is enough to start with to store all your most important shit, like pictures or documents from work/school, but as you go on to invite people you can quickly get up to the maximum of 'free space' which is 10gb by adding 250mb increments of space for each new friend you recruit.

Tl;dr- it's an easy to use means to backup your most important files to the internet, and to sync with your other computers/smartphones in real-time without the hassle of getting to know things like SSH etc. And even if you don't have more than 1 computer, it'll still be a great help for when/if your harddrive decides to fuck up the next time around. If you're still unsure about how it works you can watch the vid from the link below. Also use the link to signup so we both get 250mb of extra space:

That actually sounds pretty useful, if it's secure I'd definitely be willing to use it because I always need my stuff for school to be moved from one computer to another.
