Better in terms of what? Nvidia cards are just huge heat generators, I preffer ATI. I've got a 6870 and it performs really well, I'm sure that the 6990 will be a good card.

If I buy an graphics card I want to know it works, every ATI card I've had (even my current) had issues.

AMD has improved but their drivers are still not up to par with NVIDIA, I've had no problems whatsoever with any NVIDIA card (of course thats more of a luck per chance)

 

ATI no longer exists btw, just saying (dissolved by AMD recently) :P
