Just got back from it, and honestly i was a bit skeptical about it since Hollywood is fucking up every good movie by making a remake or sequel. Wes Craven, master of horror, hasn't had a good movie since 1996's Scream. everything after that was either garbage or a garbage remake. did Wes Craven ruin a trilogy to bring back his career? The opening scene was very well done, very "scream-esque"; funny, thrilling, and bloody. the first 20 minutes of the movie leaves you thanking them for not ruining it. although all the references and jabs at how shit the horror film industry is, torture porn, "little chinese girl ghost" is a bit over the top and comes off as quite annoying. The characters, Sidney, Gale and Dewey all come back and are all grown up. gales role i think is done very very well. although she looks like shes 70 years old. Sidney's character comes back as a last stop on her book tour and wants to end it in woodsboro. She has a new feel to her character, strong and confident unlike the last ones where she is trying to escape the killer. the new characters? jill roberts played by emma roberts was a good character but the actress behind her was complete shit. Hayden Panettiere's character i felt was the best of the new generation. her role was awesome(her new haircut isnt half bad either...). The story? was done like i expected it. Bigger deaths, and alot more bloodshed. twist at the end was pretty crazy, until it was beaten like a dead horse(sorry mattyb). if you see the movie expect at the end, to be shocked, then laugh at how stupid the end is. verdict: Was it worth seeing? yes, if you like Scream 1, then you will like this one. Was it worth making a sequel? personally i think it was a refreshing addition to the movies that are being spewed like split pea soup by Linda Blair in the exorcist. overall i give the movie 8/10. just because i have a crush on how hot sidney is doesnt mean im going to give it a 10. -1 for emma roberts -1 for the last 10 minutes. Zero Fear1 Report post Posted April 16, 2011 I have yet to see it, but honestly I never had high hopes for the movie to begin with. Scream shouldn't even be classified under horror, did anyone ever even get scared from ANY of the Scream movies? Atomic_24 Report post Posted April 16, 2011 Saw it last night, I personally loved it how they made fun of themselves and every other horror film. The twist end had my mind fucked although if you really think about it, you can almost see it coming. I'd say if you liked the first one, go see this one.
