Christy Report post Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) Alright so after just shopping/looking around, seeing all the topics on RoT Forums, & just generally watching random YT videos, I decided I want to upgrade all of my computer shit. Now I'm not that great with computers & I don't understand all the technical terms, but I get the gist of it. Also, I'm not looking to spend thousands of dollars buying a ton of shit or have the most amazing computer setup ever. I'd be pretty happy with like half of whatever the fk Jamie has (lol). I'll be slowly upgrading random shit over the next few months & I'll post a topic whenever I buy a new toy <3 Some things I'll be looking for in the near future...a second monitor, illuminated keyboard, headset, etc. If you have any advice as far as products to buy or places to look let me know please! ANYWAYS... At the moment I have 1 Desktop & 1 Laptop Desktop Specs This is basically what I play RS on and do everything else. I have my laptop for work/school but I don't use it that much for either of those & so now I mostly use it for music/movies/flash games/multilogging/etc. It has like 3x the specs of my Desktop (scroll down for laptop specs) so I guess I should really be playing on it rather than my desktop o.O Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2 System Manufacturer: Compaq-Presario Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz Memory: 894MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Laptop Specs Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) System Manufacturer: Dell Inc. Processor: AMD Athlon II P340 Dual-Core Processor (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz Memory: 3072MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Razer Imperator So I started working on this yesterday since my mouse broke I decided instead of buying a shitty one I'd upgrade. Has a bunch of different features including macro buttons and also a 7 foot braided cord. Bought it yesterday & I've loved it so far. Price: $80 Edited June 19, 2011 by Christy

Bloodarrow42 Report post Posted June 19, 2011 Memory: 894MB RAM Upgrade that RAM lmao. Your PC must lag to shit. What's your budget? Specs for your laptop are fine. Now I can almost guarantee you people will come on this thread suggesting to upgrade your RAM of your laptop/etc. but to be honest 3GB is a fair amount and unless you do hardcore gaming, running 8 programs at once, you won't need too much. Your desktop though could really use more RAM. As for the mouse, you won't really need any hardcore mouse either unless you're really into online gaming (CoD, Halo, WarRock, etc. on the computer). I'd just recommend getting one of those Microsoft wireless mouses.

Splodge Report post Posted June 19, 2011 Get any old monitor for a second one, for an illuminated keyboard get the Microsoft Sidewinder X6. It's quite cheap and it owns. As for other parts you haven't really said anything lol

I already bought the mouse, it owns & yeah a couple others have told me to upgrade my RAM so I'll look into doing that but honestly I don't lag *THAT* much. Sometimes if I run too many things my computer will like go nuts but otherwise it isn't bad. I'm not sure about my budget, I'm kinda doing things in parts as I get my paychecks. So cute. -.- go cuddle with a piece of gum Get any old monitor for a second one, for an illuminated keyboard get the Microsoft Sidewinder X6. It's quite cheap and it owns. As for other parts you haven't really said anything lol I'll check out the keyboard, thanks and as I think of stuff I'll update this :x Any suggestions on anything else that could make my computer better is appreciated :) Edited June 19, 2011 by Christy
