Matrix 4312 Report post Posted July 8, 2011 I've been looking for a laptop for some time, and I've been looking for deals to go with it. I don't do hardcore gaming, just rs and watching videos and movies and all that good stuff. I'm going to university the year after next, so it has to be a laptop really or it defeats the purpose as I won't have anything to take down notes with as well lol. What I want to know from anyone here who is really good with computers is: Is this a good deal with the specs it has? It costs $1,249.99 and $16.59 for shipping. I also am worried that it may be too big with a 17.3" screen, and it says it is 8.00 pounds. Does anyone know if this will be a problem if I have to use it at university? Finally, does anyone have any experience with ASUS in the past and can tell me if they make good computers? http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230028&Tpk=ASUS%20G73SW-XN2 There is the link to the site. It has all the specs and there are also reviews. Thanks if anyone can help! Bloodarrow42 Report post Posted July 16, 2011 Personally I'd go for a larger HD, but it all depends on the person and how much they would use.
 0
l Kreiger l Report post Posted July 16, 2011 I actually have this computer and it is a fat ass, it's not something you would want to take to school it will take up your whole desk. Sometimes when it starts up and first sign in it takes like 3 minutes for the RAM to start going. You have to make sure the fans aren't covered or it will overheat and shut off pretty fast. If you have the computer set to gaming and are on battery the battery doesnt last long. Other than that its a great computer. If you only watch movies and play runesape though I wouldn't recommend it for that. It is a bad ass gaming computer though.
 0

Weloverange Report post Posted July 16, 2011 I'd recommend building your own or getting someone that knows what they're doing to do it for you. It's cheaper+more fun. Also, if you don't want to do that, that laptop wouldn't be a bad choice either.
 0
