Sunburns

Recommended Posts

theo

So recently I got a major sunburn, covering my whole back both arms and my torso area. Most of it has slowly peeled away, but before any of this happened around 24 hours after the sunburn I got blisters over the sunburn, which then popped (I didn't touch them) but on my arms and around my neck is really dry skin that hasn't been peeling, if I try to peel it the skin will sting and there's scratch marks under the skin. On top of that I peeled a blister and it has been a little bloody.

So should I put aloe on it, leave it alone and wait god knows how long until it peels, or see a doctor?

You have skin cancer and you're going to die.

This guy from yahoo answers sounds like he knows what he's talking about.

I believe you have somehow received second degree burns. How long were you out in the sun? The best thing to do is just wait for them do go away. It is a good idea to not pop them, they will become open wounds which can very easily become infected. Just wait for them to go away or go to a doctor to get them popped if they are causing you discomfort. If you must pop them at home, heat sterilize an exacto-knife by holding it over a flame until it glows. Wait for it to cool. Poke the blisters and squeeze out whatever comes out until you get pure blood. Then bandage them. Change the bandage and apply antibiotic cream every day.

You're supposed to put aloe on it before it peals (keeps it from doing that)

Im thankful i rarely get sunburnt, just really tanned

Yeah you were suppose to keep on applying aloe to your sunburn spots so they wouldn't peel..However you might aswell start putting some on to help "cool down" the affected areas and try and help them rebuild.

dont peel it cause the dead skin acts sort of like a natural band-aid and protects the new skin as it develops

it will peel on its own, but if you peel it yourself too soon theres a good chance it will peel again.. which sucks

Just put Alo Vera on it.

If it doesn't go away you might have skin cancer, no biggy though.

You just have to get it removed.

I've never had sunburn, but I don't think you should peel the skin yourself, it should naturally peel and fall off itself. Hope you get it sorted soon, good luck.

editt; people already basically said but yeah :P
