dev blog: rare items

Recommended Posts

1. Distribute them using similar mechanics as you did before (dropping them, holiday events)

2. Appear as a very rare reward from a treasure trails
3. Distribute them through very rare monster drops
4. Have an NPC shop you can buy rare items from for a small amount of GP
5. Have an NPC shop you can buy rare items from for a large amount of GP
6. Have them given out as rewards from community events
7. Give one of each rare item to every old school player
8. Have them appear as very rare drops when skilling
9. Introduce new seasonal events for each of them

Some of those ideas sound kinda stupid. I'd prefer either #1 or #7 personally

No point.

There is a point, once people (stakers for instance) start getting max cash stacks there needs to be something of high value to buy, the only other option at this point in time would be 3rd age due to its rarity. However, since it will continue to come into the game that isn't exactly a long term option in the same way rares are.

On that note, the drop party idea is alright if the server didn't lag to shit everytime there was 200+ people in the room. I personally think implementing them into clue scrolls for X amount of time is the best way to go about it because I'm not seeing a fair way to distribute them otherwise.

I dont think Jagex cares about high risk stakers. Especially when a large portion of them are gold sellers anyway.

3rd Age pieces will be roughly 100m a piece which is more than enough for stakers if I was a Jmod.

why can't they just leave good enough alone

although if they absolutely must bring them back I'd say clue reward would be the best option however they would have to be from lvl 1, 2 and 3 clue scrolls and scroll not only given from monsters but also skilling so skillers have an equal chance of getting them.

I find the argument with stakers pretty dumb, why should jagex cater to a minority of RWTers lol
