Tomm Report post Posted June 19, 2010 I prefer PS3 because of the blu-ray and online is completely free. Contrary to popular belief, xbox doesn't have better servers than PS3 from my experience. It's the same shit. They make up for the server costs by charging you like £30 for a headset and all the other shit that doesn't come with your console. 360. 360 but really i paid alot more than expected, I Had to buy a wireless adapter (£60), Turtle beaches (£89) and a new hdmi cable (Dunno), but I now have both and prefer the 360 alot more

alan1 Report post Posted June 22, 2010 (edited) I own them both and I'll give you a fair comparison of what really matters: PSN and XBL. The PS3 system itself comes with built in WiFi. Comes with a rechargeable controller that charges via USB port to the system. If you buy an Xbox, you're gonna have to buy the $20.00 charger kit and rechargeable batteries. Also if you aren't playing right next to your router, you'll need ~14ft Ethernet cable which is around 14 dollars depending on where you order it online from or you can spend ~$100.00 on the Xbox WiFi adapter. Then you have to pay for an Xbox Live Gold subscription, which comes in $19.99 for 3 months, or $50.00 dollars for a year (something like that). So right off the bat, just buy owning an Xbox, you're gonna need an extra few hundred dollars to buy things you wouldn't have to buy for the PS3. When you buy the PS3, it's pretty much a 1 stop shop. The only accessory you'd really have to buy is the official PS3 bluetooth headset. The voice quality is extremely clear on it. You can also buy the Microsoft LiveChat headset, which is $25.00 and that's pretty clear as well. If you have a cheap mic though from Wal-Mart, it will sound like nigger garbage and nobody will be able to understand you. On XBL you can send people voice-messages, which is really nice and comes in handy. On PS3, you can't and you have to use the On-Screen Keyboard. Both systems utilize Netflix's streaming, so if you're into that, either system works. Features of on Live that PS3 doesn't have. On XBL you can have party chat, where you and friends can be playing the same game, different games or just at the Dashboard and you all can talk in real-time. On PS3 you can't be playing a game, which sucks. Depending on how convenient that would be for you, it could be a huge plus to owning an Xbox. I notice a lot, especially in MW2 there are a fuck load of people using modded controllers or come out of a hacked lobby with auto-aim, x-ray vision, niggerbullshit that's tedious as fuck and will make you rage quit. On PS3, there's no hacked lobbies where you can get auto-aim, niggerbullshit, etc. As far as the casualness goes between Xbox and PS3, I rarely run into a lobby with people that are 'good sports' about wins/losses, competitive fun, etc. Mostly on PS3 though I play with a lot less younger kids. If there's one that's annoying about XBL is there's always some 12 or 13 year old kids in the lobby trying to flame bait. I don't mind when grown men do it, but they have those squeaky voices that just make you want to play Russian roulette with a loaded shotgun. Neither system is 'better' than the other game wise or dedicated server wise. Anyone who says differently is a mere fanboy. Bottom line is, if you want to just buy a system and game it up and not hassle with buying extra accessories that don't come with the system but should, then PS3 is for you for sure. However if you don't mind spending a few extra hundred dollars, then go with the Xbox. Edited June 22, 2010 by alan
