Applerune Report post Posted July 15, 2011 Well 360 has a larger audience online and many more games that offer online competitive play. When I think of online play though, I think of things like Call of Duty and maybe the odd sport game you play. Call of Duty is what everyone plays online anyways and not much else so I don't really see the validity in the argument that 360 has more to offer. I mean most of the better games are on every system anyways, these companies want to make money not deprive themselves of it, remember that. I've played both online, 360 and PS3 and I can tell you I enjoy the audience on PS3 much more than 360. It seems more mature to me but they're lot less people using Playstation Network so that is probably why. I don't even care for video games anymore though to tell you the truth. I got over the point where I can sit in front of my TV and play a console for hours. I always found PS3 much more user friendly and easier to do things with. I never really got into my 360 like I have my PS3 and half the time when I use it I don't even play video games. I have an 80GB PS3 and it gives me everything I need and more. I don't know what else you would possibly need the extra space for but hey, go nuts if you have the money.
 0

I'll probably end up getting the lower memory console anyway because I don't really find a need to use a lot. I'll be honest though, only primary games I plan on playing are games from the CoD franchise, GTA, and maybe a few sports/racing games. Is there anything else the PS3 offers besides the game play? I know it has a blu-ray player, and I've also heard PS3 has better graphics.
 0
Applerune Report post Posted July 15, 2011 If you have an HD TV then nothing beats the quality on a PS3. I watch Netflix too on my PS3 and can get all the music from my computer transferred to my PS3. I know you can probably do the same thing with 360 but I just never really got into it. I don't like the style or feeling of a 360. PS3 seems much more sophisticated, sleeker and really just looks a hell of a lot better. I'm not even sure if 360 has a web browser or can load up YouTube in the same fashion I do on my computer. Stupid things like that that probably don't matter too much but I enjoy them. I'm pretty sure you can probably do more on a 360 but it comes down to what you prefer. If you want a less mature but more active online audience go 360. If you want a seemingly more mature audience with better graphics and (I think) better games than go 360. The only people who say PS3 has shitty games are the ones who actually give a shit about Halo. Halo was cool like 6 years ago and even then I thought it sucked. I Googled this: PlayStation 3 - Pros - -Built in Blu-ray Player -Free Online Services (PSN & Web browser) -No batteries for wireless controllers (USB Charger/No additional cost) -Overall a more mature online community -Incredible Graphics -No Red Ring of Death (Yellow light seems less likely) -ALL Models have built-in WiFi -Photo Album -Music Player/Music Album -Playstation Home -Create as many online usernames as you'd like, for free -Larger Harddrive -Downloadable Games/Movies/TV Shows/Music -Playstation 2 Controller/Memory Card Adapters -SACD Support/Flash Card Readers -Playstation Eye/Playstation Move -Trophies -2-4 USB Ports (Depends on Model) - Cons - -Slightly less reliable online service (Connection wise) -Installing updates for each new game -Yellow light of Death -Weighs 11 pounds -No In-game Private Voice Chat XBOX 360 - Pros - -Larger Online Community -In-game Private Voice Chat -ALL Models are Backwards Compatible -Overall better games (Halo, Gears of War, etc.) -Better Online Connection -Music Album -No updates for new games -Wired Controllers (Also works with PC) -Removable Harddrive -Downloadable Movies/Games/TV Shows/Music -Live Arcade -Achievements -Xbox Live Vision/Kinect -3-4 Different Models (All differently Priced) - Cons - -Pay for Online Service -Bulky Controller -Older models don't have built-in WiFi -Batteries for Wireless Controllers -Red Ring of Death/Failure Rate -Unreliable Stock Headset No idea how much help it will be but nonetheless at your disposal
 0
≈Nine Report post Posted July 15, 2011 Xbox. The online experience is so much better, and you're more likely to keep your credit card and other details away from the general public. Competition wise I don't really mind if I'm playing people who are less competitive, but I hear that all the time. I just never understood how it was technically "better". Well for starters you have to pay for Live, which makes it better by default (nobody would get an xbox if paid Live was just as good as the free PSN). Plus, the vast majority of this clan and probably people at your school have an xbox.
 0

I've played on the PS3 a few times before, and I'll agree that it's probably more competitive on xbox, but seeing as it's 7.99 a month for LIVE now, I don't see too much of a difference. Trust me the whole Xbox LIVE is so much better then PSN, XBL has such a better dashboard system (if you can call it that) than PSN.
 0

schalke Report post Posted July 15, 2011 I went with the Ps3 when I was trying to decide on this one. Even with the whole hacked psn thing for a month, I'm more than happy with the Ps3. Yeah maybe the average skill level is slightly lower on Ps3, but the gameplay is still great, it has slightly better graphics, and you talk to mature people rather than the 13 year olds whose balls havent dropped yet which seem to be everywhere on 360.
